Why do we do the things we do? What are our motives? ‘Motives matter because people matter. As leaders, we can either manipulate people for personal gain and advantage (which is always wrong), or we can motivate them for mutual advantage (which is always right). It is important to do the right things for the right reasons.’ (J.Maxwell) Doing something good (like personal growth and development) for the wrong reasons will end up with bad results.
