• Hope: Idea #262

‘“Hope has two daughters, anger and courage.” Anger at how things currently are, and courage to go make a difference. That is how we can change our world. We need to be angry about the unfair, injustices of the world. The things that won’t improve unless we are angry enough to do something about them. We need courage to stand up, declare that we want to make a difference, and do something about the issues…Transformation doesn’t begin with others, it begins with yourself.’ (J.Maxwell) How will you fuel your hope today? What steps will you take, with courage, to bring hope into your world?

  • Small Habits #2: Idea #261

Continuing on with some small habits for well-being at work: ‘Make micro-connections with colleagues. Make it a point to greet your colleagues with genuine enthusiasm when you’re on a call…Be grateful. A daily gratitude practice can be as simple as writing down three things you appreciate every morning…Recharge after work. It’s important to spend time doing things you love in your personal life.’ (HBR) Micro-connections is a new concept for me, but it makes sense. I’ve been trying to be more “full of life” on video calls even when I don’t feel like it. What’s your next step?

  • Dreams: Idea #260

What do you really want to do with your life? ‘Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts.’ (A.Einstein) And the path to achieving your dream can start small. ‘Each today, well-lived, makes yesterday a dream of happiness and each tomorrow a vision of hope. Look, therefore, to this one day, for it and it alone is life.’ (S) Don’t worry about whether you can or can’t, ‘The only limits in our life are those we impose on ourselves.’ (B.Proctor) So forge ahead, take that first step towards your dream!
