• Journey: Idea #256

How often do we judge others with only one meeting or event? It’s so easy to classify people based on something significant that happened – or not. ‘People usually judge you based on where you are at currently, not what you could become eventually. Don’t let one comment stop you from trying. File it away or use it as fuel. Focus on getting better. Someone else’s analysis of your current position doesn’t tell you anything about your current potential.’ (J.Clear) Remember that the current situation does not define who you are, or who someone else is. Respect the journey, and realize we all stumble at times.

  • One2One: Idea #255

Do you shy away from 1:1 conversations where you have to be involved and engaged? ‘Spending time with someone in a one-on-one environment allows for deep meaningful connections where you can resolve or address important issues.  When an issue is addressed in a group environment it can lead to a disconnect from the individual you want to impact. Connection, most often, is best accomplished one-on-one, whether it is to correct someone or praise someone.’ (J.Maxwell) Yes, these types of conversations can be more draining, however the beneficial outcomes are well worth it in the long term. Join me in having a deep conversation with someone today.

  • Approachable: Idea #254

How easy is it for others to ask you for help or support? Are you an approachable person? ‘Develop habits and personality traits that make you approachable. When people become successful, a gap can grow between them and others. Be intentional about letting people get close to you. The happiest, most fulfilled people in life are those with close friends, who allow others into their life.’ (J.Maxwell) If you encourage others to come to you, to know who you really are, you’ll find that your sphere of influence will continue to grow.
