Focus. How important is it to focus? ‘What you focus on expands. If something is important to you, write it down. Put before you what you want to expand, and put behind you what you want to shrink—stay focused on what you want in life.’ (J.Maxwell) It’s sort of like driving a bicycle, if you look to the left or right, you tend to steer in that direction, don’t you? So it is with the things we (think) we want to learn and develop. If we focus on the wrong thing, what do you think will happen? Are you focusing on the right areas of growth for yourself today?

Success. As you reflect on your 2022, are you feeling successful? Are you asking yourself – what must I do to be successful? ‘Asking what makes someone successful is like asking which ingredient makes a recipe taste good. It’s not any single ingredient. It is the combination of many ingredients in the right proportions and in the right order—and the absence of anything that would ruin the mixture.’ (J.Clear) So maybe over this “end of year” period, take time to review your recipe for success. Are you including the right ingredients? Are you making sure you don’t have anything in your life plan that ruins your goals for personal development and success? What is your recipe?

Encouragement: Idea #85
‘Encouragement is the oxygen of the soul. If you are breathing, you need to be encouraged. A great encourager pours good things, beliefs, and positivity into others.’ (J.Maxwell) How have you been encouraged recently, and how did that make you feel? Who have you encouraged recently? As we approach the end of the year, I trust that a few of my ideas have been encouraging for you as you grow and develop.
