• Change: Idea #505

Change is a constant these days. ‘The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.’ (A.Watts) Is it easy? Not really. However, look at it this way – ‘Change is hard at first, messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end.’ (R.Sharma) Because it’s so hard and messy, it also involves change in ourselves. ‘You can’t change and be somebody else in the future unless you start becoming a little better at being that future person today.’ (R.Norton) When confronting change, the first place to look for action is in the mirror.

  • Formula: Idea #504

Who loves specific steps to success? Well, here’s ‘A formula for success: A few acts of self discipline, practiced daily, over a reasonable period of time. Everything worthwhile is uphill. Those acts of self discipline can be large steps or small, baby steps up the hill … The small steps may not appear to make a difference, but they do over time. Where will you end up in a year? Will it be by default or design?’ (J.Maxwell) That’s what these posts are all about, taking those small steps each day, never giving up or stopping, because in the long run the growth will be spectacular.

  • Hope: Idea #503

Has it ever occurred to you that hope is powerful in helping you grow? ‘Hope works in these ways: It looks for the good in people instead of harping on the worst; it discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about what cannot; it regards problems, large or small, as opportunities; it pushes ahead when it would be easy to quit; it “lights the candle” instead of “cursing the darkness”.’ (T.Robbins) It’s all about how we look at life, our point of view. A hopeful view allows us to succeed much faster, so let’s be hopeful.
