Would you like to be successful? ‘Show me a successful individual and I’ll show you someone who had real positive influences in his or her life. I don’t care what you do for a living – if you do it well I’m sure there was someone cheering you on or showing the way. A mentor.’ (D.Washington) If you don’t have a mentor or coach, I highly recommend you find one. If you aren’t mentoring or coaching someone else, find someone to help. Being on both the giving and receiving end of mentorship I can attest to the value of this relationship, in either situation it will help you grow.

Peace: Idea #291
‘In our volatile, reactive world, we all desire inner peace. We can’t obtain inner peace from anything external, such as money or situations going our way. Inner peace comes from making a decision – understanding that it isn’t what happens to us but what happens in us that makes the difference. Outside influence can’t give us inner peace, nor can it take our inner peace away.’ (J.Maxwell) Who we are and what we build our lives on will help determine whether we can enjoy a life of peace, or not. A peaceful person is always a pleasure to work with – be that person.

Help: Idea #290
Sometimes when I look around and see all the needs in the world it seems overwhelming. I try to remember that ‘We can’t help everyone, but everyone can help someone.’ (R.Reagan) So I’ve decided to help when and where I can, and in some way ‘Do good. The greatest pleasure I know is to do a good action by stealth, and to have it found out by accident.’ (C.Lamb) I can confirm that it’s truly better to give than receive. How will you help someone today without anyone noticing? It’s as we serve others that we grow as people, as leaders, and as the person others want to have around them.
