Relationships: Leadership Idea #9

As a leader it’s important to remember that the best results come from having great relationships with others. If we work on relationships, we’re helping others feel important, feel listened to and understood. When I’m listened to and feel understood, I’m much more likely to consider and support a request even though I may not agree. The more time I spend getting to know others, the easier it is for them to have the inclination to follow my ideas, my way of doing things. As an added bonus, when relationships are good, difficult conversations can happen without emotions clouding the discussion.
