I don’t know about you, but for me sometimes it’s really hard to forgive someone, especially if they don’t seem to care. It’s so easy to just minimize the offense and lock it away so we can get on with life, but that’s not forgiveness, it’s putting up a wall of protection. True forgiveness means we acknowledge the offense, how big it is to us, and choose to forgive the other person and go on with life. After all, if we think about God’s forgiveness for each one of us, how much “bigger” is His? And it’s a serious matter, if we don’t truly forgive, how can we expect forgiveness for ourselves?
