I think it’s only in the movies that we find people that enjoy chaos. At least I know I don’t, as I prefer life to be smooth and predictable. However, I’ve learned that life does involve some chaos, uncertainty, and abrupt changes. So how does a leader manage these contradictions? One idea I recently read about explains that there will always be chaos as well as the desire for calmness. A good leader will lean into the tension that this creates, and find the balance that’s needed to manage the chaos while supporting some continuity in life. How do you handle chaos, and can we balance in the tension?
