When do you become a leader, and how does leadership begin? I believe leadership starts when you have confidence when others don’t, when you take responsibility for a group, and when you begin supporting others in your team or group even if you don’t need to. True leadership is not an appointment to a role, it’s a behavior that demonstrates a character that others like, and want to follow. It’s about being able to influence a group even though you don’t formally manage them. And I think leadership starts with caring for others even when it’s not your role. That, in my opinion, is how a leader is born.
