Accountability: Growth Idea #640

We talk about accountability, we say it’s important, but what exactly does it look like in everyday life? Let me start by stating what I believe it is NOT. It’s not blaming others, it’s not making excuses, it’s not avoiding responsibility. So what is it? I believe accountability is when I step up to claim ownership of a project or task, I commit to completing this project or task, and if I don’t deliver what I promise, I accept full responsibility even if I was impacted by others. Accountability is also asking others to give me honest feedback, and telling me when I’m not living according to my commitments. It’s tough, but it’s worth it!
