When’s the last time you watched someone trying to learn how to ride a bicycle? Isn’t it true for many that they don’t have a lot of confidence, and it shows as they drive somewhat erratically. Then as they gain confidence they drive faster and straighter, and more relaxed. That’s how it can be for leaders too. Leading is much easier when when we are confident in our abilities. But, you may say, I’m REALLY not confident, so what can I do. First of all, if you’ve been appointed or hired to a role, someone believes you have the abilities, so trust yourself. Secondly, actively work on improving your abilities and believe in yourself – you CAN do it.
