As we’re reminded in Maxwell’s Law of the Lid, as a leader we cannot help our teams, our friends, or those around us, grow and develop if we’re not looking after our own development. Of course it would be much easier if our leaders or managers were mandating or at least enabling our development, but we shouldn’t depend on others for something so important. Each of us has the responsibility to continuously find ways to grow and develop ourselves. That can be through courses, webinars, training sessions, mentors and coaches, but we have to take ownership. What’s your plan for development?
