A word used a lot by leaders these days is strategy. What does is actually mean? Is it meaningful and important? Here’s what i think – strategy is good, it’s important, and it’s worthwhile having. The challenge for most of us is implementing the strategy and activating the actions required for success. Too often we have a strategy that is ignored, as we focus on the work that “must be done” every day, and we put out the fires of things gone wrong – and at the end of the week we haven’t had time for strategy. What I’ve learned is that if we don’t allow time to work on strategy, we’ll always end up with chaos.
