Why do we repent, is it because of guilt for the wrong things we did, or should it be to because we miss the relationship we had with our Heavenly Father? I wouldn’t want to say one is better than the other, however, repenting to restore our relationship with God is why He is patient with us, and continues to show us kindness even when we’re in the wrong. We can see from stories in the Old Testament that God did punish people when they made bad choices, and sometimes those punishments were final. Today, we have the privilege of coming back in repentance and having our relationship renewed. So good! (Romans 2:4)
