Who do you think is the hardest person to manage as a leader? Surprise, it’s yourself. It takes strong self-discipline to be a good leader, and you need to be ready and willing to look at yourself through the eyes of others. Why? Because it’s all too easy to go easy on ourselves when we make mistakes “because we were trying hard”, forgetting that others also try hard. A good leader has people around them that will be honest in giving them feedback, and they will encourage others to help them see their own blind spots, and be eager to make corrections to improve themselves. That’s a good leader.
