Recently I wrote about the basics of Christian life – faith, purity, love, and hope. Today I want to remind us that out of that list of basics, there is one value that will last for eternity even as the others no longer exist. That value is love. I was reminded recently that without true love (it is kind, patient, not easily angered, not proud, rejoices in truth, not selfish, it protects, trusts, and perseveres) everything else good that we do is meaningless. And as I reviewed that description of love, I was reminded of exactly what I need to focus on this week – true love. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7, 13)
