As someone with a huge back yard, I spend too much time doing gardening. Trimming, weeding, mowing, etc. But the truth is, whenever I finish a gardening job, the back yard looks nice, very inviting, and I feel good inside. You know, I believe that’s how God feels when He’s working on us, doing some weeding in our life, pruning away the dead stuff, and smoothing out the selfish bumps in our character. I’m thankful that the goodness of my life doesn’t depend on me, I have a Heavenly Father that’s doing some gardening in my life – if I allow it. (Rom 8:29)
