How much time do you spend thinking about your position, or your title at work? One important lesson I’ve learned is that my position doesn’t make me a leader, and being a leader is more important than position. A position doesn’t influence others nearly as much as a leader does, because a leader has followers that can be influenced for the better. Also, sometimes we think that only a position at the top will give us satisfaction, and again from my experience, sometimes the top position has less influence than a lower position, simply because of leadership skills missing in the top. So I encourage you to not focus on your position today.
