Meek: God Idea #47

Blessed are the meek – just what does that mean? It sounds like an invitation to be a doormat, to let others walk all over you. But is that what it really means? I understand meekness to actually be a show of strength and restraint, having the ability to take revenge, for example, or have a sharp response in a tense situation, but restraining ourselves to only respond in a way that builds up the other person. I can testify that being meek is not easy, as it requires a person to be humble, and avoid being upset because of their personal pride and ego. How can you show meekness today? (Matthew 5:5)
