I appreciate feedback, however, criticism is harder to take many times. And truthfully, not all criticism is beneficial, however as leaders we can also learn from all of it. First ask yourself, from who did it come? Is it someone you respect or someone that “knows their stuff”? If so, maybe I need to try and understand what nugget of truth they were trying to give me, even if it’s a bitter pill to swallow. It also makes a difference if what was said was given with the intention of helping you, and not hurting you. Bad criticism can be ignored, but we should always try to find a grain of truth in it. That’s a good leader.
