As a leader, no one from your team or group should ever need to be afraid of you. Not just physical fear, this also includes psychological fear, emotional fear, and the feelings of never being able to measure up to your expectations. A good leader provides an environment of safety where others can disagree with you knowing you will continue to respect them. Others need to know that you are just as human as they are, prone to mistakes, not always as confident as you appear, but willing to lead the way fearlessly, embracing differences along the way.
