Anger: Idea #154

If something has ever happened to upset you, or someone does something irritating, ‘…don’t ever forget that it is best to listen much, speak little, and not become angry; for anger doesn’t make us good’ (J.), and anger doesn’t bring about the results we want to see. I’m sure we’re all aware that when we’re upset, and angry, we tend to say and do things that are not always so excellent. I know I have to be careful in this area, and so I try to delay responding to an upsetting email for overnight to help myself calm down and ensure I respond calmly. We do have two ears vs. one mouth, so let’s use our listening more than our speaking.
