• Opportunity: Idea #40

Would you like to know how to improve your career? ‘1. Become fiscally responsible – understand balance sheets and general finances…2. Learn – the brain becomes stimulated through learning…3. Ask for feedback & JUST LISTEN…4. Become a great teammate…5. Learn outside of work – the brain is a muscle so exercise it.’ (T.Hagen) As you demonstrate these characteristics your manager and other leaders will see and know that you are capable and ready for bigger opportunities. What have you done this week to improve your career opportunities?

  • Impact: Idea #39

Would you like to make a positive impact on other people? ‘When is the last time you made a positive impact on someone’s life?’ (J.Maxwell) When you think about your actions over the past day or so, does anyone acknowledge any positive impact from what you’ve done? To make a positive impact, you need to want to make a difference in people’s lives, and then take some action to achieve the same. It’s more than a “want to”, it must include personal action. So today, ‘think about how you can make an impact on those you interact with today!’ (J.Maxwell) And let others know if they’ve made a positive impact on your life too.

  • Growth: Idea #38

It’s a law of nature that where there is no growth, there is no life. For each of us, if we’re not continually growing and developing we’re becoming irrelevant, and less useful. We need to realize that it takes continuous effort to grow and develop, it doesn’t happen overnight. We should also solicit the help and support of others to help us grow, we don’t need to do it alone. And as we work on developing ourselves, it probably helps if we focus on areas that will have a specific impact on our opportunities, rather than randomly selecting a topic to develop. Question for today: are you growing or wilting?
