• Proactive: Idea #12

‘Be Proactive.’ (S.R.Covey) This is more than just leading out, taking the initiative. This means taking responsibility for our lives, both personal and professional. We get to shape ourselves because of our decisions, not the conditions that we find ourselves in. We are responsible for making things happen, the ability to choose how to respond to our environment and the events coming our way.

  • Accountable: Idea #11

‘Accountability. Be accountable for your results. It takes commitment, responsibility and determination to go after your goals and dreams. Do a little extra every day, and watch how far you go.’ (J.Maxwell) If you blame others for your lack of results you will never achieve your full potential. We usually don’t see “behind the scenes” at all the hard work, practice, and difficulties an elite athlete faces while preparing to win an event. In the same way, every person that wants to be excellent in all they do has their share of “behind the scenes” efforts that can be discouraging, tiring, and even feel impossible – however, with persistence and diligence you will succeed.

  • Change: Idea #10

‘To achieve a goal you have never achieved before, you must start doing things you have never done before.’ (J.Stuart) Many initiatives or projects require significant behavioral change, something we don’t think about or plan for often enough. Behavioral changes are hard, especially when we think about changing ourselves. Having a good strategy isn’t enough, you need actionable steps to take to execute the change you want. So, if you want to achieve your goals, make sure you have actionable steps that allow you to measure your progress along the way to your final goal.
