• Input: Idea #115

Have you ever heard the saying, “garbage in, garbage out”? That’s so true for us individually as well. ‘The edge is in the inputs. The person who consumes from better sources, gets better thoughts. The person who asks better questions, gets better answers. The person who builds better habits, gets better results. It’s not the outcomes. It’s the inputs.’ (J.Clear) What are you feeding yourself today? Are you going after the better inputs?

  • Big Picture: Idea #114

What’s the BIG picture? That’s a question I need to keep asking myself when I encounter change. ‘It’s not about you, it’s not about me, it’s always about the big picture. It’s always about what’s best for the whole, and the goal is more important than the role. Always look towards the big picture.’ (J.Maxwell) I find when I step back and avoid focusing on how change is impacting me personally, I am better able to find breakthrough solutions that reduce the stress of change and challenge. How can you step back from the trees and look at the forest?

  • Productivity: Idea #113

How would you like to boost your productivity, that is, what you can accomplish? Here are 5 ideas that might be useful: ‘Organize Fewer Meetings…(Plan) Time Away From the Desk…Implement Time Tracking Software…Avoid Setting Unrealistic Goals…Lower Distractions.’ (GF) To expand on these ideas, think about whenever you DO have meetings, make sure only the required people are involved, that there is an agenda, and keep it as short as possible (30 minutes is good). Take regular breaks, and software may help with the planning of that. If you have an important task to work on, turn off your email, messaging, phone notifications, and perhaps put on your headphones to facilitate focus. Let’s see how much boost we can find today.
