• Finish: Idea #75

‘There is (a little under) one month left in the year. Most people are ready to coast to the finish line, but one good month can make the whole year feel like a success. What can you do in the next 30 days to build momentum and finish the year on a high note?’ (J.Clear) What a great challenge! I know I tend to have the feeling of “just trying to finish the year before I collapse”, however, what would be even better is to take on some unfinished projects or tasks and finish the year strong with a bang. What’s one more important thing I can learn, do, or finish before the end of 2022? What is that for you?

  • Cost: Idea #74

‘Every transaction is paid for at least three times. First, with the money you pay. Second, with the time you spend. Third, with the reputation you create through your behavior.’ (J.Clear) What an interesting concept! I had to stop and think on this one for a bit, however I find it very true in my life. Everything we do has a cost, it’s just that sometimes the cost is not visible. A person cannot grow and have a good reputation if you aren’t willing to pay the cost in changing your behavior, and in taking the time to learn what is needed. What are you willing to pay for to get what you want?

  • Apology: Idea #73

‘A good apology is like antibiotic, a bad apology is like rubbing salt in the wound.’ (R.Pausch) How hard is it to apologize when we’re wrong – it’s definitely not easy for me. However, a good apology for a deed or word that shouldn’t have happened is a strong way to grow as a person, and as a leader. Remember though, if you are in the wrong, make sure your apology is genuine, as a bad apology only serves to make things worse, and can even destroy what is left of a relationship. Challenge for today is to be humble enough to apologize when and where it’s needed.
