• Past: Idea #467

We all face headwinds in our quest for growth and personal development. When we do, ‘You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of.’ (J.Rohn) And sometimes the way we handle those headwinds is not ideal, however, that doesn’t define us. ‘Your past is like a bag of bricks; set it down and walk away. Quit collecting every painful word, memory and mistake. Collect hope.’ (R.McGill) Focus on the future, on what you can be, know that change is possible, and decide to pursue the new path.

  • My Life: Idea #466

Today I’m thinking about the gift of life, and how easy it is to take it for granted. For myself, time passes by so quickly, the years blur together, and at times it’s hard to remember what I did and accomplished during the past year (sometimes even last week). So I’m reminding myself (and you) to slow down at times, to reflect and ponder on what I’m focusing on. Is my focus on the important things of life, the relationships I love and that are so important to me? What’s the legacy I’m leaving behind each and every day? Is it one that adds value to others, or is it just about me. I trust I’m learning how to serve others more than myself, and that as each year passes, I will be satisfied with what I’ve contributed throughout that year.

  • Tiny: Idea #465

‘The greatest inventions and accomplishments began as the flicker of an idea. This tiny flame was then fueled by desire and faith. Watch out for those tiny little ideas. You have the potential to turn them into great things!’ (S.Brunkhorst) And then you will want to take action on those ideas. ‘Most people confuse wishing and wanting with pursuing. You must place your trust in action.’ (P.Pritchett) And as you action your ideas, you will accomplish great things. What would you like to accomplish this year?
