• Compassionate: Idea #360

This week I’ll be focusing on John Maxwell quotes, so sit back and enjoy. ‘Do you beat yourself up? Instead, treat yourself as kindly as you would treat a good friend if they were dealing with the same challenge or mistake. When we are compassionate towards ourselves, it lowers our stress levels, helps us persevere, and just feel better. Where have you been too hard on yourself?’ (J.Maxwell) Join me in being compassionate in all areas.

  • Required: Idea #359

‘Winston Churchill once said, “It is not enough that we do our best; sometimes we must do what is required.” Think about what you are working toward this year. Are you doing what is required or are you looking for a shortcut?’ (J.Clear) Perhaps you’re facing another challenging year, and you’re not sure about how much effort to put into your work. Let’s choose to not take the shortcuts, but to stand tall, do the hard work that is required, and be prepared to be surprised at the outcome. Yes, it’s hard, however as we make the right choice we will find ourselves growing stronger as a person.

  • Team: Idea #358

No person is an island, we always need others, both to help us, and for us to help them. WE is much stronger and more successful than ME. ‘A team is not a group of people who work together. A team is a group of people who trust each other.’ (S.Sinek) All of us need to work with others at some time or other. Perhaps it’s by choice, perhaps by design, or perhaps by our desire. In any case, without trust between people, there can be no synergy, the outcomes are not multiplied. If you have trust in the mix, the result is an explosion of outcomes bigger than the team. Are you in a team, or a group of people?
