Preparation: Idea #50

‘The more prepared person usually wins.’ (J.Clear), however, ‘You get credit for action, not preparation.’ (J.Clear) Sounds contradictory doesn’t it. While it’s true that actions are what you’re recognized for, great actions don’t happen without preparation. When you manage a project, preparing is half the work involved if you want to be successful. Of course, if you never deliver all the preparation in the world isn’t going to save you. In my experience working in Lean Six Sigma projects, sometimes it seemed as if too much time was spent on prepping, however, all that work paid off in the end. What are you preparing for today, and how will you act on it?
