• Grow: Idea #120

Have you ever heard the saying “if you’re not growing, you’re dying”? It’s a natural law, just look at your garden or the plants in your local park. ‘Growth is expected, it’s not an option. The only guarantee that you will have a better future – in life, on a team, and as part of an organization – is if you are growing. The only way that you can go together, is if you grow together. Growth is expected in everything you do.’ (J.Maxwell) Yes, growth can be challenging and painful because to grow we need to be stretched, and change. However, when you look at the final result the effort is all worthwhile.

  • Complain: Idea #119

Who doesn’t like a good whinge every now and then. Yes, sometimes it’s a form of therapy when things go sideways, however, it can easily slide into complaining, which doesn’t solve anything. ‘The more time you spend complaining about what you deserve, the less time you have to focus on what you can create. Focus on what you can control.’ (J.Clear) This advice is especially true when we think about our own situation, what we have vs what we want. We’re not victims, we are people that can focus on the areas of our life that are under our control, and we can ensure we act and respond in a way that is positive and leads us to the destination we are looking for in our life.

  • Help: Idea #118

Is it just me, or am I the only one that sometimes struggles with asking for help? ‘When dealing with problems, ask for help. Asking for help often feels like a weakness, and it is hard to admit to yourself that you don’t have the experience, the wisdom, or the resources to solve a problem. However, asking for help doesn’t diminish yourself, it diminishes the problem, and allows you to let others into your life.’ (J.Maxwell) I have discovered that asking for help keeps me humble, and keeps me on a learning path. What help do you need today, and will you ask for that help?
