• 80 Summers: Idea #523

As I go through life, I’m reminded that ‘You get 80 summers if you’re lucky. 80 summers. That’s all you get. Of course, we all know that the average person lives to around 80, but when I heard it described like this – it stopped me in my tracks…biggest takeaways…Living in the same place as the people you love matters. Priorities matter. Quality time matters.’ (C.Kultgen) Life is short – are we sure we’re making the right decisions, that we’re on the right life track? Are we growing and developing in the areas of life that are the most important, or are we side-tracked by the superficial? Join me in growing in the important things of life.

  • Achieve: Idea #522

What does true collaboration look like? ‘Collaboration is the secret to transforming a mere organization into a dynamic ecosystem of innovation and success. It allows the whole to be greater than the sum of its parts – talent, ideas, and expertise coming together to achieve shared goals. Collaboration is more than just working together … It is about building relationships based on trust and respect. Together we can achieve anything.’ (J.Maxwell) Seems to me that building good relationships is key to true collaboration that drives success. Let’s build today!

  • Listen: Idea #521

Idea #6 – ‘Seek first to understand, then to be understood’. (S.R.Covey) How often do we not understand why people do what they do, or act how they act? Why do we get frustrated when others don’t seem to understand our thinking? Perhaps it’s because we haven’t taken time to really listen to them, to hear and understand their thinking, before we label them as difficult or challenging. So today, think about the most challenging person you need to work with, and take time to deeply listen to what they have to say – BEFORE you start talking about what you need.
