• High-Road #5: Idea #499

My final post on what it means to live on the high road. ‘High road leaders live by the bigger picture. It is important to see reality, but also to see what could be … The real picture is where you are today, but the bigger picture is where you could be tomorrow. You have to see yourself in the bigger picture in order to get there.’ (J.Maxwell) It’s so much easier to limit our view to today, our current circumstances, rather than look forward. We may even want to keep looking in our rear view mirrors, but to grow as a person, we need to see the big picture, the future as it could be – if we take the necessary steps. Let’s do it!

  • Important: Idea #498

Did you know that if you really want to make progress, you need to understand the difference between urgent and important. We all have urgent things that demand our attention, however, are they the most important for you in life? We have limitations on what we can focus on, how much time we can dedicate to the demands coming our way – so what can we do? We need to ruthlessly prioritize our attention, and that can only happen when we know our purpose. Find out what is important to you that aligns with your values, your vision for yourself, and your personal mission statement? As you fully recognize your purpose, you will begin to prioritize appropriately.

  • Purpose: Idea #497

There are many factors involved in being successful, but I think ‘Success is knowing your purpose in life. Until we know why we are here, how can we know if we are successful? Our calling or mission demands that we know what our purpose is. You can find your purpose by figuring out what your passion is and what your strengths are. There are two great days in a person’s life: the day they are born and the day they discover why.’ (J.Maxwell) Do you know why you were born? Maybe today is the day you should stop and spend some time in deep thought, pondering who you are.
