• Thinking: Idea #490

There’s a lot of research around the concept that we become what we think about. So how do we decide what to think about if we want to become a person of character and value?  ‘Summing it all up, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious – the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly’ (P) Sounds like the best idea is to avoid spending any time thinking on the bad and ugly, the worst of people, and instead focus on what is good – the best. Join me in thinking good thoughts today.

  • Eyes: Idea #489

Do you ever feel like you’ve missed out, that your opportunity has passed you by? Well, ‘going through life is like driving a car; if you keep your eyes on the road you already passed, you’ll miss all the wonders of what’s ahead, and you will not see the obstacles coming until it’s too late. Keep your eyes on the road you are on, not the one you were on.’ (D.Richer) If you keep your eyes focused forward you’ll see those opportunities coming along, and you can make the right decision and follow the road that leads to your goals.

  • High-Road #2: Idea #488

‘High road leaders set themselves apart from people who travel the middle or low road. Those that travel the high road, give more than they take. Low road leaders take more than they give. Middle road leaders give equal to what they receive. High road leaders know people are valuable, and if you are a plus in the lives of others, they will come to you with love and you will have an increased influence on them.’ (J.Maxwell) The lesson for me from this is to check whether I’m giving more than I’m taking. Adding value to others will definitely grow your own value.
