• Positive: Idea #390

‘Keeping one’s attitude positive, especially when the world conspires to make us mad, is one of the great accomplishments of life.’ (B.Burchard) This statement resonates with me. I also know that ‘Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong.’ (M.Hale) I also know I don’t want to stay stuck and not move forward. So stand up tall, know that ‘Courage isn’t having the strength to go on; it is going on when you don’t have the strength.’ (N.Bonaparte) I’m choosing to move forward!

  • Small: Idea #389

A quick reminder, these posts are all about taking small steps, making small changes, but doing them every day. ‘If I cannot do great things, I can do small things in a great way.’ (M.L.King) It’s the repetition of small improvements that leads to huge changes in outcome. ‘If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.’ (D.Lama) Yes, your small improvements will make a difference not only for yourself, but also for those around you. And it doesn’t need to take long. ‘In one minute, you can change your attitude, and in that one minute you can change your entire day.’ (S.Johnson) Let’s keep working on the small.

  • Imposter: Idea #388

Do you ever feel like an imposter in your role? Like maybe others don’t really know how little you think you know? Some thoughts from a recent workshop I attended: A lot of people view imposter syndrome like it’s a debilitating chronic disease. So, the preferred term is “imposter thoughts.”  These are pangs of doubts: Am I ready? Are other people overestimating me? ‘The more often you have these thoughts the better you perform. You have more persistence and you become a better learner.’ (A.Grant) So take those thoughts and focus them on improving yourself, and watch yourself succeed.
