• Expression: Idea #431

Let’s think about how we express ourselves, and review whether it’s positive or negative. It starts with you, so ‘If I am not good to myself, how can I expect anyone else to be good to me?’ (M.Angelou) How we talk to ourselves is much more important than we may realize. ‘Every time you express gratitude or compassion for any aspect of yourself or someone else, you breathe life in.’ (M.Gladis) Having positive expressions for ourselves then allows us to do the same for others. ‘Let us be quicker to praise than to find fault. Let us be quicker to thank others than to complain.’ (D.Tutu) Join me in expressing the positive while avoiding the negative – your growth will be much faster and better.

  • Value: Idea #430

I posted about relationships previously, and this is a reminder that ‘Relationships – how we connect with others – are key in our success. Relationships have the power to resolve the negatives in our lives. Are you a plus or a minus? Do you add value to others or take value away? If you want to do well with people, add value to them. That is what relationships are all about.’ (J.Maxwell) Sometimes I forget to think about the quality of my relationships, are they a plus to others, or am I subtracting value for them. I prefer to be a plus.

  • Write: Idea #429

Sometimes when we feel confused and don’t quite know how or what to think, ‘The simplest way to clarify your thinking is to write a full page about whatever you are dealing with and then delete everything except the 1-2 sentences that explain it best.’ (J.Clear) I know from my experience that writing things down really helps to clarify my thoughts, and plans. You might think taking time to write stuff is a waste of time, however ‘Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely.’ (A.Rodin) If you take time to reflect on what you’ve written you will have a better understanding of your life direction.
