• Help First: Idea #139

Have you ever heard the “tongue in cheek” statement – Do to others before they do to you? Well, that’s not exactly the best approach to life! ‘If you help other people get what they want first, then they will help you. By helping others first, you add value to them. If you add value to people, you’ll get value returned in your life.’ (J.Maxwell) You get much better returns for your efforts if you help others first BEFORE expecting help from them. It’s the simple natural law of planting and harvesting. What are you planting today?

  • Self-aware 3: Idea #138

Self-awareness 5 Steps – Part 3: ‘1. The first thing…is to establish awareness on a personal level then (on) a team level…2. The second step is acceptance. The acceptance of ourselves and other people…3. The third step (is) the first action step – ask one’s self questions of what is working in our ability to collaborate with others…4. The next step is to put actions into motion. Specific actions such as asking for feedback…to fully embrace what is being presented…5. The last step is to begin to actualize. In essence, people have an opportunity to realize success.’ (T.Hagen) Let me know how you’re going with applying the 5 steps to Self-awareness. Has it been helping you grow and develop as a person?

  • Self-aware 2: Idea #137

Self-awareness Benefits – Part 2: ‘6. An increase in self-regulation leading to greater acceptance of others and by others. 7. Greater capacity to truly listen and communicate with others. (Self-awareness Strategies:) 1. Ask for feedback while planning just to say thank you – this helps avoid resistance and verbally dismissing feedback. 2. Journal daily of positive and possibly non-positive perceptions created by one’s self.’ (T.Hagen) It’s so important to not just ask for feedback, however to also accept whatever is given. What feedback would you like to give me today?
