• Hope: Idea #503

Has it ever occurred to you that hope is powerful in helping you grow? ‘Hope works in these ways: It looks for the good in people instead of harping on the worst; it discovers what can be done instead of grumbling about what cannot; it regards problems, large or small, as opportunities; it pushes ahead when it would be easy to quit; it “lights the candle” instead of “cursing the darkness”.’ (T.Robbins) It’s all about how we look at life, our point of view. A hopeful view allows us to succeed much faster, so let’s be hopeful.

  • Best: Idea #502

I find it all too easy to slack off when no one is watching (I’m sure you are better). ‘We need persistence when we are training, not when we are already trained. We need it not when everyone is watching, but when no one is watching. Anyone can do their best when everyone is watching, but if you haven’t done the work, your best won’t be good enough.’ (J.Maxwell) I’m reminding all of us that doing our best needs to happen even if no one sees it, because ‘Your positive action combined with positive thinking results in success.’ (S.Khera) Let’s do this together!

  • Rest: Idea #501

Thinking again about the concept of pondering, I believe that too many times we think we don’t have time to spend on activities like this due to our busy schedules. Maybe that’s why we take vacations (or should, at least). But should we really wait for events like this, as sometimes holidays are packed full of things to do and see. I believe rest is a part of how we find time to ponder, to think over things, and plan our future. We may feel like we’re so busy we don’t have time to rest – get enough sleep, take breaks, etc. But as we deliberately find time to rest, we’ll also find time to ponder – which will help us grow and develop because our actions are thoughtful.
