• Thank-You: Idea #500

Thank you for taking time to journey with me as I’ve shared my simple ideas on how to grow and develop both personally and professionally. It’s hard to believe that this is post #500 in this journey, and I hope you’ve found the insights along the way useful for yourself in some small way. If you have a favorite post, or example of how a post has helped you in your life journey, I’d really like to hear from you via my feedback email. I may also repost a few of my previous posts that I believe are important, and that I need reminding of – the simple steps I can take to continue improving. • High-Road #5: Idea #499

My final post on what it means to live on the high road. ‘High road leaders live by the bigger picture. It is important to see reality, but also to see what could be … The real picture is where you are today, but the bigger picture is where you could be tomorrow. You have to see yourself in the bigger picture in order to get there.’ (J.Maxwell) It’s so much easier to limit our view to today, our current circumstances, rather than look forward. We may even want to keep looking in our rear view mirrors, but to grow as a person, we need to see the big picture, the future as it could be – if we take the necessary steps. Let’s do it!

  • Important: Idea #498

Did you know that if you really want to make progress, you need to understand the difference between urgent and important. We all have urgent things that demand our attention, however, are they the most important for you in life? We have limitations on what we can focus on, how much time we can dedicate to the demands coming our way – so what can we do? We need to ruthlessly prioritize our attention, and that can only happen when we know our purpose. Find out what is important to you that aligns with your values, your vision for yourself, and your personal mission statement? As you fully recognize your purpose, you will begin to prioritize appropriately.
