• Ponder: Idea #494

How much time do you take to stop and ponder? To think deeply about life? I know I could do more of this. But why, you may ask, and why is it so hard? A couple of ideas: I think sometimes I’m afraid to stop and think because I don’t want to think about the areas where I’m not doing what I should be doing. However, I believe a bigger reason is that we are so distracted – by the busyness of life, work, personal activities, and by all the digital info that we can access 24/7 that is all too often trivial entertainment. Why should we stop and think? Pondering on what has happened and what my plans and strategy are for the future helps to calm down anxiety as we see the big picture. Deep thinking also allows us to create meaningful plans and goals for the future. Stay tuned, more thoughts on how to ponder are coming up.

  • High-Road #4: Idea #493

Another tip on ‘how high road leaders set themselves apart from people who travel the middle or low road. High road leaders do this by taking accountability for their actions. They admit mistakes. Power corrupts, but a high road leader stays accountable to other people, which helps keep them on track. When you are accountable, others will help you be a better person than you could have become on your own.’ (J.Maxwell) It can be hard to acknowledge mistakes, to be accountable for what we do, however in doing so we mature as an individual.

  • Choice: Idea #492

Did you know you have a choice in how your day looks? ‘You can live each day in a world filled with “problems,” or rise each morning and embrace a world filled with unseen solutions… eager for you to find them. The decision is yours… both worlds exist. The one you choose is the one you will create.’ (M.McMillan) That doesn’t mean there won’t be challenges, however, ‘I was taught that the way of progress was neither swift nor easy.’ (M.Curie) Anything worthwhile takes time and effort. Join me in making the best choice today.
