• High-Road #2: Idea #488

‘High road leaders set themselves apart from people who travel the middle or low road. Those that travel the high road, give more than they take. Low road leaders take more than they give. Middle road leaders give equal to what they receive. High road leaders know people are valuable, and if you are a plus in the lives of others, they will come to you with love and you will have an increased influence on them.’ (J.Maxwell) The lesson for me from this is to check whether I’m giving more than I’m taking. Adding value to others will definitely grow your own value.

  • Achiever: Idea #487

Do you want to be an achiever and accomplish big things? ‘Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything.’ (N.Hill) Once you know what you desire, you need to take action. ‘This life is yours. Take the power to choose what you want to do and do it well… Take the power to control your own life. No one else can do it for you. Take the power to make your life happy.’ (S.Schutz) Action starts with our decisions, what we commit to doing, and having the confidence that we can do what we start. ‘Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings.’ (S.Johnson) Believe in yourself, and if you still have doubts, have a good chat with your mentor.

  • High-Road #1: Idea #486

Over the next few days I want to think about traveling on the “high road” and ‘the characteristics that high road leaders possess that sets them apart from people who travel the middle or low road. High road leaders bring people together. Unfortunately, most leaders divide people. Great leaders bring together their friends and divide their enemies. They don’t necessarily agree on everything, but they appreciate other people, even when their perspective is different than their own.’ (J.Maxwell) Which road do you want to travel on in life?
